Andrew Darwin is the principal of Darwin Law Limited. Prior to establishing Darwin Law Limited Andrew was a partner in a city firm and most recently was Head of Litigation at a boutique property firm based in central London.
Andrew has a wealth of litigation experience. His professional career spans twenty years, focussing on cases with real property and planning backgrounds.
He also has experience of commercial and professional negligence disputes and insolvency cases.
Recent work on Academy conversions and takeovers; renewable energy projects and commercial property projects has provided opportunities to develop transactional experience.
Andrew was listed for several years as a noted practitioner in both the Legal 500 and the Chambers Guide for Property Litigation.
Milton is a triple qualified Solicitor-Advocate, Barrister (not in practice) and Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) who specialises in property dispute resolution.
Milton has recently worked as a real estate dispute resolution consultant and previously in a City law firm as a senior member of its property litigation team where he dealt with real property, landlord & tenant and property contract disputes, both on commercial and residential property. He joined after having completed his barrister’s pupillage at top property set, Falcon Chambers.
Before qualifying as a lawyer, Milton qualified and practised as a Chartered Surveyor with Healey & Baker (now Cushman & Wakefield) and Drivers Jonas (now Deloitte Real Estate).
Ruth Deehan is a consultant with Darwin Law Limited. Prior to joining Darwin Law, Ruth was a consultant to a city firm, having been a partner at a number of city law firms for over 15 years.
She has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate, particularly in the retail sector, having acted for landlords, tenants and developers, many of whom are recognised household names.
Ruth has been recommended for her commercial property and retail sector work in each edition of The Legal 500 UK since 2011
Stephen Milne is a consultant with Darwin Law. Stephen has dual specialisations in commercial contracts law and employment law. Prior to joining Darwin Law, Stephen was head of the TMT team at a city law firm, which he founded and built up, as well as being a partner in the Employment team. Prior to that he worked at two major US law firms.
Stephen has almost twenty years’ experience handling a wide variety of commercial and employment matters for a broad range of clients, from entrepreneurs and small businesses through to large multinational organisations.
Stephen has been recommended for both his commercial and employment work in each of the last five years’ of The Legal 500 UK and Chambers UK and has been ranked as a Leading Individual in commercial work, where he has been praised as “extremely bright and commercial without lookingto complicate matters with legal jargon” and “extremely knowledgeable and efficient”.
Shayne is a consultant with Darwin Law. He is an experienced property lawyer and undertakes a wide range of commercial property work with particular expertise in dealing with retail, occupational and investment work, sales and purchases, landlord and tenant issues and development work. He also acts on property aspects of corporate transactions. Shayne previously worked with Pinsent Masons.
